Supporting Adelaide’s southern metro community to live healthy, engaged and fulfilled lives

Alwyndor’s response to COVID-19

  • Kevin

Kevin looks forward to every gym session

At my age (almost 80), the gym circuit keeps me relatively fit. The equipment is first class to exercise the upper and lower body. The gym supervision is superb, making sure equipment is used carefully and checking the participants are ok.

  • Rosemary

Rosemary finds relief in our home support

I was born, educated and have lived in Glenelg/Holdfast Bay all my life (77 years), as has my husband of 57 years. Over the years we have had the opportunity of availing ourselves of the wonder and many services of Holdfast Council and Alwyndor, for example the maintenance of garden and gutter cleaning, house maintenance, the library etc. With advancing years and failing health we have always been treated with quality service, respect and kindness. We cannot speak highly enough of them all.

  • Sue barton

Sue knew Alwyndor was where she wanted to be

Mum had been a regular visitor and assisted at the Uniting Church services at Alwyndor for years so when the need arose for full care she insisted she move into Alwyndor.

The building and grounds create a spacious and homely feel but like all organisations it's the staff who make the difference and the wonderful staff at Alwyndor prove this.

A history of giving

The vision that has become the modern-day Alwyndor stemmed from the heart of a young woman named Dorothy Cheater, who never lost sight of her desire to care for others.
